Ukraine and the Republic of Malta are interested in developing joint projects in the agricultural sector, especially in logistic, which can be beneficial for business representatives of both countries.
This was discussed during the meeting of the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on the issues of European integration Olga Trofimtseva with the Minister of Economy, Investment and Small Business of Malta Christian Rubezh.
“Despite the fact that the volumes of bilateral trade in the agrarian sector between our countries are not significant, we see the potential for cooperation in the investment sphere. Considering the possibility of combining the strategic geographical location of Malta and the country’s existing advantages in such areas as infrastructure and taxation, and our strategy for diversifying agro-export”, – Olga Trofimtseva said after the meeting.
According to her, the creation of a distribution center may be of interest for certain types of agrarian and food products, including processed products exported to African countries. In order to accelerate the implementation of this project, we agreed to establish a bilateral technical group to develop a concept for the business model of the distribution center. This technical group should submit its proposals on the business model in the near future.
